aleo solar AG raises revenue for financial year 2008 to EUR 360.5 million (+48.9%)
18.02.2009 | Pressaleo solar AG [ISIN: DE000A0JM634] has announced revenue of approximately EUR 360.5 million for financial year 2008, according to preliminary calculations. This exceeds the figure for the previous year (EUR 242.1 million) by around 50%.
In total, 49.3% of revenue was generated abroad (previous year: 34.5%). EBIT amounted to EUR 23.8 million (previous year: EUR 15.7 million). The EBIT margin remained solid at 6.6% and is as expected. Revenue target of at least EUR 330 million was surpassed in November 2008 already.
The 2008 annual report containing the final figures is expected to be published on 26 March 2009.
Member of the Management Board Uwe Bögershausen reiterates the ambitious targets: "Target for 2009 is set - we are aiming for a consolidated revenue of at least EUR 380 million."
Jakobus Smit, CEO of aleo solar AG, adds: "We believe this confirms the Company's strategy. aleo solar AG focuses on manufacturing premium modules. We selectively target specialist dealers, fitters, installers and project developers with our own direct sales channel. With a strong brand we are best prepared for the buyers market 2009."

The Company
aleo solar AG produces and distributes premium solar modules and systems for the international photovoltaic market. Since 2009, the Bosch Group has owned a majority of the company (DE000A0JM634), which was originally founded in 2001 and has been listed on the stock exchange since 2006. The premium manufacturer currently has approximately 900 employees and is represented in the key photovoltaic markets all over the world. The aleo solar group has an annual production capacity of 280 megawatts at its plant in Prenzlau, Germany. The company generated a turnover of € 279.9 million in 2012.
