Production process

The production process comprises six stages of quality management.

  • Firstly, the silicon cells are connected with each other in rows (strings) by highly modern automated brazing machines, so-called stringers. In so doing, particular care is taken to ensure that the cells which are joined together are of equal capacity to prevent reduced output in the module ("mismatching").
  • In the lay-up station, the solar cells, which have thus been combined in strings, are laid on solar glass which has already been overlaid with EVA film and has been prewashed. This is tempered, pre-stressed solar glass.
  • Subsequently, the strings are soldered together and connected in series. In the same production stage, a second EVA film and an insulating rear film are overlaid. In this production stage, it is possible for processing staff to manually intervene at any time in order to eliminate sources of error. This semi-automatic production method enables decided and thorough quality control, and results in low reject rates.
  • At the next stage, under precisely defined pressure and heat conditions in the laminator, all the components are combined to form a laminate which is protected against environmental influences. In this laminate, the sensitive solar cells are particularly protected against moisture and ultraviolet light.
  • In the following production stage, the laminate is fitted with a stabilizing aluminum frame and a connection socket.
  • Finally, the modules' performance is checked in standardized test conditions, then the modules are assigned to corresponding performance categories. Throughout the entire process, high quality base materials are used, which guarantee the quality of usage properties and yield properties required of aleo solar modules. Highly modern automated machines are combined with manual production steps in such a way as to enable a high degree of flexibility and constant quality control.
